Regional round of Shaastra quiz competition by IIT Madras held in Pune

PUNE: The regional round of a national quiz competition, conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Madras under its annual event Shaastra 2020 was held at NMV Girls High School and Junior College recently.

The team of Mehul Shelke – Aditya Nebhrajani won the first prize, while the second and third place was given to Srisha Rewatkarand-Chinmay Kale and Aaditya Deorukhkar-Nihar Karve.

The quiz competition is conducted in over 20 cities with 4000+ participants. 320 students participated in the Pune edition of the competition.

H Madhan Kumar, second year student of IIT Madras organized and conducted the quiz.

The prize distribution ceremony was held in the school premises and Neha Pendarkar, the principal of N M V Girls High School and Junior College gave away the trophies and certificates to the top three teams, said organisers from Shaastra.

‘The top five teams from this round are qualified for the national screening round and the top 25 teams from the screening round get to participate in the finals, the Spark Junior Conference, a national science conference for school students in India. They will get a chance to travel all the way to IIT Madras, for the Spark final round. The top three teams of the Spark finals will be declared as national winners of the quiz competition,‘ said the statement from Shaastra.
