SPPU‘s courses on Swayam platform to begin from August 5

PUNE: Savitribai Phule Pune University will be conducting an online credit course under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development. This free of cost online course will be open for students as well as general public. Interested candidates can enroll in any of the two semesters in a year, for the course.

The courses are available on MHRD‘s Swayam online portal. Once a candidate completes the course, there will be an online test from ‘Swayam‘ post which they would be offered credits based on their performance.

The students need to first register themselves at swayam.gov.in and then enroll in the course, said Arvind Shaligram, director Educational Multimedia Research Center (EM2RC) at SPPU.

The courses will start from August 5 and have been developed by EMRC.

The eight courses developed by EMRC and available on Swayam are Certificate Course in Hindustani Raga Sangeet – Level 2; Course in Business Economics (Macro); Course in Special Services Marketing in India; Fundamentals of Office Management and Methods; Fundamentals of Percussion -Tabla; Personality Development; Retail Management; and Business Ethics (Managing for Sustainability).

Once the student enrolls for the course, he or she can access the video lectures and other material available online. The students will also be given assignments to complete every week.

As per University Grants Commission rules, students pursuing their higher studies can take 20 percent of their credit via swayam platform.
